sucking lately

The past few days have been a struggle for yours truly. Between dealing with my vertigo husband this weekend in the ER and flying out to Atlanta for my first official business trip, I don't know my left foopa from my right.

In particular, here's some things I've been struggling with...

Adjusting to Atlanta EST time. (Is one-hour jet lag a thing?)

Paying attention in my all-day meetings. (Can't someone make a fart joke to liven this joint up? ... Employee of the year over here. )

Applying chapstick to my crusty crusts. (It's like the Sahara met one of Betty Davis's buttcheeks.)

Waking up on time, so I won't look like a homeless person. (And it's not because my hotel mattress is extra plush.)

Training for my marathon. I'm about to be in real trouble, y'all. I can't keep eating waffles and fried chicken every night, or I'll only ever be able to run to the fridge.

Not missing my dizzy husband. It's almost pathetic how much I miss him, and it's only been two days. Thankfully his vertigo is on the mend. He can now walk without throwing up. Wish I was there to take care of my little pumpkin butt.

Blogging. I know most of you don't have a Jena-size hole in your hearts, but let's pretend you do. Maybe next week I'll improve, but for now, I find myself not caring. Don't hate me.

  1. I DO have a Jena-sized hole in my heart!! So I'm happy to see a new post from you. :) And I think that YOU should be the one to crack the first fart joke in your meetings. Hope your pumpkin butt has a speedy recovery! Vertigo sucks balls.

  5. I was in DC for work for a week, and I was dragging because of the time change! You wouldn't think 2 hours would make a difference, but I felt "off" all week. Hopefully your trip is almost over. Hope the hunny buns gets better soon.

  8. one hour jet lag is so a thing!! and it is worse than 12 hour jet lag, in my really important opinion. i live in atlanta and any time i go to central time i lose a year or two off of my life. i can never recover!

  9. One hour jet lag is a real thing. Or we are both nuts. When I change to any time zone other than that of my home turf, I feel totally off.

  10. Awe! I am sorry girlie! Work trips are the worst! And they always seem to trick you into thinking it will be so much fun cause you get to travel. Hang in there! You can punch this week in the face!

  16. If I were only a little bit closer to ATL I would come eat chicken and waffles with you!! Okay, so maybe I'd skip out on those (I still have yet to try that concoction). But at least it would be good company!
Good luck with the rest of your trip!!

  27. I just came across your blog after reading about it on Love and Such and can I say, your blog is hands down the funniest I have read...ever. And I read a lot of blogs. Seriously, this shizz is gold! ha ha

Sucks that you're in struggle town at the moment. If it makes you feel better, I got home from work today, my husband said hi and I burst into tears until I had a chocolate Paddle Pop ice cream in my hand, and then the world was fine again. If you haven't had a similar hysterical crying moment like that today, you're doing one better than me ;) ha ha
    xx
