the pits

Not enough sleep. Not enough ice cream.
My house still looks like we just moved in. There's nothing on the walls.
We still haven't painted the upstairs, or even started.
My chair is not even half way done getting reupholstered.
There are saggy bags under my eyes cause I've been at work too much this week.
Grahm got a $440 speeding ticket, $200 extra for the tags. (I try to tell him he isn't filming Too Fast and Too Furious, but apparently you can't argue with the "I'm going the speed of traffic" bit he always pulls.)

This week has just been the pits.
Excuse me while I drown myself in cookie dough and French fries.

  2. Hang in there ma'am! We've lived in our house for close to 2 years, and it looks like we haven't done crap with the place, lol! And ughhhh to the $440 ticket, that is PRICEY!!

I'll have some cookie dough for you too! :)

  3. And to think I was annoyed with the $150 ticket my husband bought himself this week. Thanks for putting it into perspective. I think I need to sage my entire aura after this funk-filled week. I just finished posting a picture of the french fries I drowned my sorrows in earlier this week. Here's to Fridays.

  5. We moved in to a new house in September, and I have ONE picture (albeit a large one) hung. This might sound absurd, but I wanted to make sure everything was where I wanted it (furniture, etc.) before putting a bunch of holes in our freshly painted walls. You'll get there! And maybe so will I! :)

  11. Ugh. I know the feeling. Messy house, speeding tickets, baggy eyes, the works. But, this too shall pass. I'm pretty sure next week will be about a million times better. Until then... cookie dough and french fries are a great idea.

  12. I recommend eating some Oreos. Or ice cream. Or pizza. Or all three!!! :-)

Hang in there; things have gotta' look up from here, right?! (That's what I try to tell myself all the time, although I still stuff my face with all the goodies listed above) haha :-)

  13. Ugh, thankfully my husband hasn't gotten a ticket yet, but he always says that too..."I'm just going with the speed of traffic." Seems pretty close to the "If your friends jumped over a bridge" analogy to me.

Sorry you've had such a tough week!!! I recommend Oreos also, with peanut butter. On top of ice cream.

  26. JENA - found this via another blog and immediately thought of you and your painting stress/dilemma. It seems like a super cool way to test our colors in a real space. Maybe worth checking out for your upstairs...you just upload a pic and then pic colors and digitally "paint" the room to see how they look. Okay - just an idea. Also - please don't get salmonella poisoning. :)
